FAQ's

The Photography & Media Network is a UK membership service created for photographers, videographers and content creators.

Our goal is to give creative professionals access to affordable insurance alongside practical business benefits, useful resources, networking opportunities and greater visibility through our online business directory.

Whether you’re new to the industry or have been running your business for years, our membership is designed to provide useful support as your business develops.

Yes. Membership includes genuine Public Liability Insurance with cover of up to £10 million, subject to the terms, conditions, limits and exclusions of the policy.

The insurance is arranged through Sharrock Insurance Services Ltd and administered by Pardus Underwriting Limited, with the policy underwritten by Accelerant Insurance UK Limited.

Members can access the relevant insurance documentation once their membership has been activated.

Your membership provides access to a range of insurance and business benefits, including:

  • Up to £10 million Public Liability Insurance
  • Up to £10 million Employers’ Liability Insurance, where applicable
  • Access to member resources and downloadable business templates
  • Exclusive member discounts and offers
  • A listing within our online business directory
  • Opportunities to take part in member competitions
  • Additional benefits and offers introduced during the year
  • Heavily discounted equipment cover. Members will be able to purchase £10,000 of equipment cover for £100, purchased directly through our insurance broker. Other levels of equipment cover will also be available

We may add new features and benefits to the membership from time to time without additional charges.

We’ve designed the service to be as efficient as possible.

By operating primarily online and using streamlined administration processes, we can keep our overheads lower. This allows us to offer membership and insurance at a competitive price while still providing additional benefits to our members.

The insurance is arranged by Sharrock Insurance Services Ltd.

Pardus Underwriting Limited acts as the Managing General Agent, and the insurance is underwritten by Accelerant Insurance UK Limited.

Full details of the insurer and the policy are provided within your insurance documentation.

Once you’ve completed your membership application and your payment has been successfully processed, your membership and insurance cover will be activated.

Your insurance documentation will then be available through your secure Member Dashboard, where you can view or download your documents.

We do not normally send insurance documents by post or email.

Membership runs for 12 months from the date it begins.

Your insurance cover runs alongside your membership and remains in force during the membership period, provided that your membership is active and all applicable terms and conditions are met.

Your insurance cover is linked to your membership.

It will normally remain in force until your membership expiry or renewal date, provided your membership remains active and paid for and there is no other reason for the policy to terminate under the insurance terms.

Yes. You can cancel your membership if you no longer wish to continue.

If your membership is set to renew automatically, cancellation will prevent the membership from renewing at the next renewal date.

Please note that cancellation does not necessarily entitle you to a refund of your current membership period.

Membership fees are generally non-refundable.

This is because insurance cover is arranged when your membership becomes active and costs are incurred for providing that cover. Those costs remain payable even if you later decide that you no longer require the membership.

We therefore recommend checking that the membership and insurance are suitable for your requirements before purchasing.

If you’re unsure about anything before joining, please contact us and we’ll be happy to answer your questions.

Membership is provided on an annual basis rather than for individual events.

If you need insurance for a particular event, you can still become a member and receive the benefits of the membership for the remainder of your 12-month membership period, subject to the policy terms and conditions.

Membership is issued to the individual named on the membership.

If other photographers, videographers or content creators within your business require their own insurance cover, they may need to hold a separate membership unless the policy specifically provides otherwise.

You should always check the policy wording to understand who is insured under your particular circumstances.

Yes, being a limited company does not automatically prevent you from becoming a member.

Membership may be suitable for individuals operating as sole traders, partnerships or limited companies, subject to the eligibility requirements and insurance terms.

It’s important to understand that the insurance is provided in accordance with the policy and does not automatically extend to every person working within your company.

Yes. All insurance policies contain exclusions, conditions and limitations.

The cover provided is subject to the full policy wording, including any applicable endorsements, conditions, limits and exclusions.

We strongly recommend reading the insurance documentation carefully before purchasing so that you understand what is and isn’t covered.

If you’re unsure whether a particular activity is covered, please contact us before carrying out the work.

There may be an excess applicable to certain claims.

Any applicable excesses are set out in your insurance policy documentation. We recommend checking your policy wording for the specific details that apply to your cover.

No. Members are insured individually under the scheme.

A claim made by another member does not use up or reduce the insurance limit available under your own membership, subject always to the terms and conditions of your individual policy.

Yes. Membership payments can be made securely online using a debit or credit card.

Payments are processed through Stripe, and we do not have access to or store your full card payment details.

Unfortunately, membership payments cannot currently be taken over the telephone.

All memberships must be purchased online through our secure payment system. This helps us keep the membership process straightforward and allows us to keep administration costs as low as possible.

If you’ve forgotten your password, select Forgot Password on the login page and follow the instructions provided.

If the reset email doesn’t appear in your inbox, please check your junk or spam folder.

If you’re unable to reset your password, first check that you’re entering the same email address that you used when you created your membership.

If you’re still unable to access your account or you’re unsure which email address is registered, please contact our support team and we’ll help you regain access.

Start by checking your junk, spam or promotions folder.

If the email still hasn’t arrived, you may be entering an email address that isn’t associated with an active membership.

If you’re unsure which email address is registered to your account, contact us and we’ll be happy to assist.

We wanted to create something more useful for photographers, videographers and content creators than insurance alone.

Many creative businesses need appropriate insurance but also benefit from practical resources, industry connections, discounts and opportunities to promote their services.

The Photography & Media Network was created to bring these benefits together in one affordable membership, helping creative professionals protect their work while also supporting the growth of their businesses.
